Waiver Services Program

The Waiver Services Program strives to assist consumers to live their dreams in a setting of their choice.  Consumers are encouraged to make choices for themselves as it pertains to where they want to live and with whom they want to live.

Waiver Services currently oversees individuals who live in apartments, as well as individuals who live in small Individualized Residential Alternatives (IRA's).  The supervision of these consumers is solely based on their needs.   The IRA group homes have 24 hours a day, seven days a week supervision, which is also based on the needs of the individuals who live there.

In the waiver Program, we serve consumers in the Towns of Babylon, Farmingdale, Plainview, Wantagh, East Meadow and Huntington.

Another service offered by the Waiver Program is the Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) In-Home Program.  This program serves consumers who live at home and are awaiting placement in a certified setting.  HCBS Waiver Services assists consumers at home with their activities of daily living, as well as assisting them to negotiate in their community.  A residential Habilitation Specialist works one-on-one with these individuals.  Both the Waiver Residential Program and the In-Home Program always strive to assist individuals accomplishes their immediate personal goals, as well as their long-term life goals.
